Daval Gum Vendor – Fifty Cents - Jackpot

Daval Gum Vendor – Fifty Cents - Jackpot

This is a trade stimulator slot machine manufactured by Daval of Chicago in the early 1930's. It's an especially rare version because it will accept 50 cent coins as well as quarters, nickels, and pennies. I believe that Daval made this version for the British and French market to accept the large size British penny but a U.S. Fifty cent piece works just as well. The last coin played shows through a window on the side. This machine also has the added jackpot on the front. This jackpot can only be released by using a key and would have to need been opened by the store proprietor when a jackpot was won. All is in excellent restored condition. The mechanism has been cleaned, new reel strips added, and the solid aluminum case polished and repainted. The gumballs pictured are actually marbles. The back door casting is dated with “1776-1935”. The case is 100% solid but there is one small repaired crack just to the left of the gumball exit hole. Keys for the locks are included. 12 in. high x 8.5 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep
