Groetchen Columbia Slot Machine 1930's

This is an early 1930's era slot machine manufactured by the Groetchen Tool & Die Co. in Chicago. The machine is unusual in that it's a smaller size countertop model weighing only about 40 lbs. It also has an interesting mechanism that was very different from all other slot machines of the era.

This model is the Gold Award model so in addition to the Nickels paid out in the little drawer at the bottom left, the Jackpot winners would get a bonus "Gold Award" token good for merchandise or cash from the store proprietor.

The machine is totally original and complete and has been completely restored. It has new reel strips and new paint. Included are four Gold Award tokens, the original cash box, and a owners user and trouble shooting manual.

The slot machine is in very nice working condition. It is 90+ years old and sometimes adds a coin to the payouts but they all work as they should.

Size is 18" X 14" 12"
